THE BIG MOUNTAIN SKI CLUB
JUNIOR SKI PROGRAM 2011-12
Beginning Saturday, January 14, 2012 or Sunday, January 15, 2012, and continuing for 9 Saturdays/Sundays culminating in a fun race and barbecue on the last Saturday, March 17, 2012. We will not be having classes Presidents Day weekend February 18th.
Classes this year have been divided into two sessions. We are limited on Saturday to 75 students, which is currently full. Our Sunday session is also a great option to enjoy great instruction in an afternoon session.
ELIGIBILITY & COST: Age 5 and up. Beginner through advanced intermediate levels. Students and parents must be members of the Big Mountain Ski Club. Membership cost is: Adult Individual: $20.00 Couple: $25.00 Family: $30.00 Students must provide their own lift tickets and equipment. Membership is required prior to the start of the program.
SIGN-UP: Sign up as soon as possible before January 8, 2010. Forms are available at The Hair Hut in Whitefish and on the web site.
Membership dues must be paid and forms must be completed prior to January 14, 2012. Mail or drop off forms at: Hair Hut, 440 3rd Street, Whitefish, MT 59937, Attn: Loni Anderson
CLASS INFORMATION: We have two separate sessions this year. One is Saturday from 10:00 – 12:30 pm and the other is Sunday from 1 – 3:30pm. All students and instructors will meet at the Base Lodge in Brown Room (second floor of chair 6 base lodge) at 10:00 a.m. SATURDAY, JANUARY 14, 2012 OR SUNDAY, JANUARY 15, 2012. Instructors will call students in advance to notify class assignments. On following Saturdays, students should report to their instructors at their designated meeting place, with ski lift tickets and equipment ready to ski at or before 10:00 a.m (Sat) or 1:00 p.m (Sun), depending on class assignment. Students and instructors will return to the morning meeting place and parents should meet them there at 12:30 p.m. (Saturday classes) or 3:30 p.m. (Sunday classes). Class rosters will be posted in the Brown Room and on the web site. Parents, please come in and meet your child's instructor.
*Note: If your child will be unable to attend a class, please let the instructor know prior to that day's lesson.
SAFETY: It is the parents' responsibility to be sure that the child's equipment has been properly fitted and adjusted safely prior to the first class and thereafter as necessary.
The child should have warm clothing for cold weather, i.e. warm coat, pants, helmet or hat, gloves, scarf and goggles.
We recommend children wear properly fitted ski helmets.
We suggest that money for a hot drink or food be given to your child for a warm-up break.
It is our goal to introduce our children to skiing in a fun and instructional format.
